Friday June 5, 2026 Important Transportation Update: Road Construction Impacting Bus Routes 1 & 3

We would like to make families aware of upcoming road construction that may impact transportation for some of our students next week.

The New Hampshire Northcoast Railroad, in partnership with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT), will be replacing a railroad crossing on Rollins Road. As a result, Rollins Road will be closed between Heritage Drive and Somersworth Road from Monday, June 8, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. through Friday, June 12, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

A detour will be in place directing traffic along Goodwin Road/Green Street, Indigo Hill Road, and Main Street/Somersworth Road before reconnecting with Rollins Road.

Impact on School Transportation

First Student anticipates that Bus Route 1 (RF1) will be the most significantly affected by this closure. Families whose students ride Bus Route 1 should expect possible delays of 20–30 minutes, particularly during afternoon transportation.

Additionally, during the afternoon routes only, students who typically ride from the Heritage Drive area and 550 Rollins Road area will be assigned to Bus Route 1, which may further affect arrival times for students on both Bus Routes 1 and 3.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility as transportation staff work to safely navigate the detour and transport students home each day. If your child rides Bus Route 1 or Bus Route 3, please plan for the possibility of later-than-usual drop-off times throughout the week.
